Well everyone stay tune.

WIP- Test Terminator and Predator
So for the Past few week I have been in a painting rut. But before the rut happened me and my friends had a Painting Jam at my buddy Ryan's house. All we did was sit around a table and painted (gasp). And at that time is wanted to do a test Terminator to see where i wanted my colors to go on it. So while Ryan was teaching my other friends how to paint well, I worked on my terminator. And I think he came out really cool.
He's not completely done but almost there. Just a few minor things to do on him, like cables, the storm bolter, and a skull on his hand. I would say 85% done.

But that's not the only thing I have been working on. I'm also working on a Predator tank from the Chapter Armory.
Just got the Foundation Paints on as well as the base color. Painting such a large model is really hard. But I think I'm going to go for an extreme line highlight for all the hard edges of the tank. The Sponsons kinda got messed up in the Priming stage so I'm think about making some new ones and starting those from scratch.

Plasma Cannon Wip
So one of my Tactical Squads has a Plasma Cannon in it and I decided to work on it this week. So far its about 70% done. Need to do some layering and edge highlights it finish it up.
On with the Pics!
On with the Pics!
Here we have the Plasma with just the basecoat and a wash of Badab Black.
Same as above but from the other side.
Close up of the Cannon.
Backside of the Pack.
Front side of the Pack
Okay so now we get to the good stuff. I've place the first layer of color which is Codex Grey. Also did up the wires and bits up in Blood Red.
Front of the Pack
The Plasma Cannon
I have placed a lot of work into the Coils of the Cannon. Trying to get the sense of power moving forward to the right side of the cannon. Did a lot of layering of different shades of blue. Started out with Regal Blue for the Base. Then I jumped to Enchanted Blue. After that I mixed Enchanted Blue with some Skull Skull with about 60%-40%. Then went to an Enchanted Blue and Skull White about 40%-60%. At the time of the Photo I haven't placed a highlight of Skull White yet. I think it looks good of the first time of mixing my own paint and doing something as ambitious as this.
So let me know what you all think.

In the Mood to Create - Sternguard bolters and wrist mount boltpistol
As the title says the past two nights I have been messing around in my Bitz Box for something to do. Mind you these are on my to do list that I wrote up, and it was an idea that has been burning in my head for a while.
Well on with the pics.
Had some fun with all the conversions and hoping to so some more. I'll post a Tutorial for both some time this week.
As always let me know what you think.
Well on with the pics.
So this is the wrist mounted bolter I was working on. All it really needs is a little green stuff to fill gaps and add some more details. Also add an ejection port for spent bolt casing.
A look form the other side. Right under the Magazine well I'm going to green stuff some sort of connection to the weapon so the hand has way to trigger the weapon to fire.
Here you can see the side Mag assembly.
And these are the Sternguard Boltguns I converted. The drum mag came for the Sister of battle Storm bolters.
Had some fun with all the conversions and hoping to so some more. I'll post a Tutorial for both some time this week.
As always let me know what you think.

Basing WIPS
Well about a week ago my friend brought over a container of sand he uses for his bases. He just uses it as is, but I wanted to control where I use the materials on my bases. So with a couple of sifters from the kitchen I went through the container and placed the end results in separate tubs.
Have a look, this is what I started with. Not bad to just start with.
This is what I ended up with.
Have a look, this is what I started with. Not bad to just start with.
This is what I ended up with.
Some very fine sand
A mix of fine and small rock.
Some bigger rock.
So with these I did up a couple of bases as a test on what I could do with the different tubs. Got some Inspiration from Ron at From the Warp on his post about improving his basing, as well as the tutorial section over there.
Well here they are.
So this is the very fine sand only.
This is the combo of fine and small rock.
This is the same combo of the two with added bits and some spruce.
So any way let me know what you all think. I really like the last one and it fits the urban rubble look that im going for.

Well I'm Still Here Pt. 2
Just a heads up on what's up.
Ok still here laying about the house somewhere. Been working on my Tatical Squads and Preadator. Lots of Real Life in the way, but its going to get better. Going to have alot more time for the hobby as I'm putting the little one in School. But that also means NO money to get hobby stuff.(i'm a sad panda)
Lets see what else.
Got the Chapter load out for every Marine, Vehicle and Support element down on paper. Transfering it to the laptop on Excel. Namining everyone as well (alot to name).
Trying to set up a Painting Jam with some friends to get better at painting.
OH the best part.
Met a guy who live close by who plays 40k. (plays Dark Eldar xeno scum) We played a few games and a really cool guy(hate his Wyches). But the cool things is he's a GREAT painter I'm taking GW 'Eavy Metal team style. Thats who's brain we are going to pick at the Painting Jam. Looking foward to that in two weeks.
And thats about it. Just had to get my thoughts down.
Rant over.

Thanksgiving Hobby Work
So after I did all my chores and cleaned around the house for tonight's dinner, my wife gave me some time to work on some of my Marines. I did get a lot kinda done. It's a start.

So this is Brother Crispin of 2nd Squad. I think this is so far my best work. Even more so than my Captain. I went away from the Drybrushing and did straight layering with extreme highlights.
I think he looks a hell of a lot better than just drybrushing.
So anyway let me all know what you all think.
And Happy Thanksgiving.
So on with the Pictures.
Some Terminators of the first company. being used as a test for the rest.
Primed my Sternguard.
This is my indulgence miniature. I'm think maybe paint as Imperial Fist, or Black Templar.
Some extra marines as well as the Plasma gunner for 2nd Squad.

Captain Marcus 95% Done
Well for the past week (to get me back into painting after the lack of wanting to paint) I decided to paint my ABOR captain. This took me about 6 days at about 12 hours in total. All that's left is the Power Pack and the Base.
So let me know what you all think and if I can improve on anything.
EDIT: I hate how pictures show things you miss hes not 95% more like 92% but its minor things. More highlights and minor fixes. But in my eyes he's still 95%.

Well I'm Still Here
Life can and will get the best of you. Especially if it's a game call "Halo: Reach". The game is really great but im sad that its the supposed last one in the series.
But back to hobby news. My game with my buddy last month was a disaster. I couldn't roll for the life of me and did some bad mistakes. But live and learn. it was fun even though I was almost wiped of the board. Scott played a good game and killed my army to 3 men in a tower. Horrible game, but fun. (I still cry when I think about it, Damm Necrons.)
But during this time I have been away I have been thinking where I want to go with this hobby. What keeps me doing this? Why do I invest my time to this when I have so many more hobbies?
And I decided it wasn't playing the Game, it was the Fluff.
I started to noticed it when I was at work. I must have read the SM Codex maybe five times and every story, every picture had me. The struggle, the Last Stands of an Empire, and the Heroes of it all.
See I'm a sucker for lost causes and final stands. (Explains why I play Firefight in Halo a lot.)
So with the time I have I have been writing Fluff and reading more over at the B&C Forums (Bolter & Chainsword) and just getting a feel of where I want my Chapter to fit in. Been looking at Galaxy Maps looking for a home, writing combat docs, figuring what founding we were made from, and even the most smallest of details I've been thinking about.
But there is something I DO know that i want to do.
And that is Boys and Girls......
IS TO DO A FULL CHAPTER
I'm not just talking about the 1,000 brothers. I'm talking about doing everyone. Every vehicle, Tech-marine, Servitor, Apothecary, Libby, and Chappy. I even want to do the BFG ships for my own.
I have already started the planing phase. I have the Chapter Master, Honor Guard, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Company load outs. Every piece of Wargear that they have.
I'm Working on the Armory right now got the Tech-Marines wargear down. Just have to do the Vehicles.
Mind you, this is all Planing right now and I'm working on putting it all on a Spreadsheet for ease of refrence as well as when I start Assembly and Painting. I'll use it as a guide.
Well that's all I have going on right now. Not much to show for at the moment. But I's still painting just got to get out of a rut of not wanting to.
(End Rant)
P.S. May be I'll ask my Wife for a Thunderhawk for Christmas.

Not As Close As I Thought
Well it's Friday. That means in two days its time for the 750 game with my friend Scott. I got nowhere near where I though I would be. But its okay.Well have a great game and I'm going to Smash his Necron force.
So here is some pics of where I am as of today.
Here is Second Squad's Squad leader Novius. It is the Responsibility of the Squad leader to carry the Aspex and call out enemies to the Heavy Weapon Marine, and to direct the squad when the Sergent is away or when they are broken up into combat squads.
He and everyone else on this post got the base colors and washes on him and that's it.
So here is the first half of 2nd Squad. From left to right: Brother Jacobo, Brother Auxilius,
Veteran Sgt. Gaius, Brother Dexion, and Brother Crispin.
And here we have the second half of 2nd Squad. From left to right we have: Brother Lucan, Brother Cicero, Squad Leader Novius, Brother Carbo, and Brother Albinius.
This is 3rd Squad's Squad Leader Sextus. Was able to start up on him but didn't get to Finnish.
So that's all I got.
On Another Note I found the Macro Setting on my camera and the Pics are nice. Never thought I would find it or even had one on the camera.
So anyways let me know what ya'll think.
